Break and Enter Arrest
A 35-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after a break and enter early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 1:30am on June 20, 2023, officers received a call to a business in the Lansdowne Street West and Park Street area on an alarm call. An officer on general patrol attended, noticed the front door had been smashed and items missing from a beverage fridge. During a search of the area, officers were approached by a man admitting to throwing a rock through the window. It was further noticed the man was carrying items that matched the items taken from the store.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, June 20, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough woman is facing several charges, including impaired operation, after a collision Monday evening.
At approximately 8:30pm on June 19, 2023, officers were called to the intersection of George Street North and Rink Street about a pedestrian being struck and that the vehicle had left scene. The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Through investigation, officers were able to locate the vehicle and took the driver into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Failure to stop after accident
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 10, 2023.
