Theft Suspects Sought
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after a resident reported a pickpocketing incident Monday.
At approximately 1:00pm on February 10, 2025, a 75-year-old resident reported that he had been running errands when he was approached by a man and a woman in the north parking lot at Lansdowne Place Mall near Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road. The woman said he had something on his coat and started trying to clean him off when the man approached and started helping her despite the victim declining their help. When they left him, he noticed his wallet was missing and learned that about $4000 had been taken through his cards before they could be cancelled.
The suspects were described to police as:
Suspect #1
- White, female
- 5’6
- 150lbs
- Wearing dark hat and dark coat, medical mask on her face and what sounded like an eastern European accent
Suspect #2
- White, male
- 5’10
- 180lbs
- Wearing a grey coat with a multi coloured scarf, wearing a medical mask and also had what sounded like an eastern European accent

Break and Enter Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after two incidents one on Saturday afternoon and the other early Monday morning.
Both incidents were reported to police on February 10, 2025, in the first, it was reported that someone had defecated in a stairwell of a residential building and then left. In the second, a person entered an apartment in a different building, made themselves a meal and left with a knife while the homeowner slept. The knife was returned to the homeowner.
Through investigation a suspect was identified and then located in the stairwell of the second building.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 25, 2025.
Warrant Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough woman wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident in December 2024 was arrested Monday morning.
At approximately 10:30am on February 10, 2025, officers on general patrol spotted the woman who was wanted on a warrant in the area of Wolfe Street and Bethune Street and took her into custody.
As a result, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
- Failing to comply with appearance notice
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 25, 2025.
