Assault with a Weapon Arrest
A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 5:45pm on December 4, 2023, officers received a call about an altercation at a residence. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal dispute had escalated between two men and the victim was hit with a knife several times. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of minor injuries. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon - Adult
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to return to court on January 2, 2024.
Weapons Arrest
A 22-year-old Lakefield man is facing charges after an incident Monday afternoon.
At approximately 12:10pm on December 4, 2023, officers were made aware about a disturbance at a residence in Lakefield. The victims later attended the Peterborough Police station and officers learned that the female had taken a taxicab to drop off an item to a former partner. When the cab arrived at the residence, a male came out of the house with a knife and stabbed the hood of the vehicle. Officers then attended the residence in Lakefield and took the suspect into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Lakefield man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 5, 2023.
Assault Arrest
A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges in connection with a domestic incident.
At approximately 2:30pm on December 4, 2023, officers were called to a residence. Upon arrival, officers noted obvious injuries to a female. Through further investigation they learned of previous incidents including one in which the female was choked.
As a result, a 48-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Spousal
- Assault - Spousal X2
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 5, 2023.
Assault Arrest
A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 10:50pm on December 4, 2023, officers were called to a residence about a disturbance. Upon arrival, they learned that a couple had an altercation in a vehicle in which the female was struck in the face, and it carried into the residence.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
The accused was released on an undertaking and is schedule to appear in court January 2, 2024.
