Indecent Act Arrest
A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday afternoon.
At approximately 1:15pm on April 18, 2025, officers were called to the area of the Rotary Greenway Trail between Parkhill Road and the London Street bridge after a woman reported a man had followed her and exposed himself. Officers including K9 Gryphon started searching the area and located a male matching the description given to police in the area.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Indecent Act- public place
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court May 27, 2025.
Impaired Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough is facing charges after an incident Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on April 19, 2025, an officer on general patrol spotted a vehicle driving slowly and without a front license plate. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver noticed signs of impairment. However, the driver refused to provide a breath sample.
As a result, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates (Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to have insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and 45-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear in court May 27, 2025.
Break and Enter Suspects Sought
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after a construction site was broken into twice in the past week.
The first incident on Deline Street which is in the Chemong Road and Simons Avenue area was reported on Friday, April 11, 2025, and believed to have happened between Thursday evening (April 10, 2025) and Friday morning. The second incident happened on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at approximately 7:00am.
In both cases, the site was broken into and damage caused to the construction materials.
