Weapons Arrest
A 32-year-old Whitby man is facing a number of charges, and two others are being sought after a targeted home invasion Wednesday night.
At approximately 9:50pm on October 30, 2024, officers received a 9-1-1 call about three males reportedly carrying guns and wearing masks entering a residence in the King Street and Bethune Street area. Officers with the Emergency Response Team were on general patrol in the area and arrived to see two men fleeing the residence. The officer attempted to make a gunpoint arrest; however, the two men took off in different directions. A third man wearing a mask came out of the residence and officers attempted a gunpoint arrest. The man charged officers and after a short struggle he was arrested and taken into custody. During a search of the suspect after arrest, officers located a loaded firearm. No one in the residence was injured.
Officers conducted a search of the area and a K9 track for the other two suspects, but they were not located.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Whitby man was arrested and charged with:
- Carrying Concealed weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Break, Enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence
- Disguise with Intent
- Assault with intent to resist arrest X2
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order X2
The accused is currently bound by two life-time weapons prohibition orders stemming from previous convictions resulting in his incarceration related to trafficking controlled substances, human trafficking and possession of firearms.
The accused is also bound by a conditional sentence order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, house arrest and to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 31, 2024.

Fraud Arrest
A 62-year-old Alliston woman has been charged in connection with an investment fraud.
On May 28, 2024, the Peterborough Police Service fraud officer was made aware of an incident in which a 63-year-old victim had been defrauded out of $40,000. Through investigation it was determined that the money was not invested as the victim had been led to believe.
As a result, on October 30, 2024, a 62-year-old Alliston woman was arrested and charged with:
- Fraud Over $5000
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on October 30, 2024.
Motor Vehicle Collision – Driver Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is looking for two motorists after a single vehicle collision last Thursday.
At approximately 7:50am on October 24, 2024, officers were called to after reports of a motorcycle being driven erratically on Clonsilla Avenue before crashing in the area of Ford Street. After the collision, the driver was picked up by another motorcycle and the pair fled the scene. Through investigation officers were able to determine the bike was last spotted in the Fairbairn Street and Parkhill Road West area.
The motorist involved in the collision is described as:
- Male
- Brown jacket
- Black Pants
- Black Helmet
The second motorist is described as:
- Male
- Green jacket
- Orange pants
