Theft/Warrant Arrests
Two Peterborough men are facing charges after an incident Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:15pm on October 11, 2023, officers were called to the area of Aylmer Street and Hunter Street about a street-level robbery with a knife. Upon arrival, officers spotted two males matching the descriptions given to police fleeing the area, one on foot and one of them on a bicycle. PSD Gryphon was deployed and as a result of bark and hold the male on foot stopped and was taken into custody. During a search of the suspect after arrest officers located a pocketknife. Officers also located several ID and credit cards not belonging to the suspect.
Officers continued to pursue the suspect on the bicycle catching up to him in the Aylmer and McDonnel Street area and took him into custody. After arrest officers located a knife and further learned the man was wanted on three warrants in connection with incidents in August and September.
As a result of the investigations,
A 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants. He is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 12, 2023.
A 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada (Credit cards and ID)
- Fraud Under $5000 (Use of credit cards)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 9, 2023.

Domestic Breach of Probation Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge for breaching a probation order in connection with a domestic situation.
On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, officers were made aware that a male had enquired about a court appearance and then attended the court room during while the person connected to the probation order was also in the courtroom.
Officers with the Investigative Services Unit later attended the man’s residence and using PSD Gryphon for bark and hold took the man into custody without incident.
As a result, a 44-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Failing to comply with probation
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 12, 2023.
