Peterborough Police Service is asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area of Concession Street and County Road 33 and Water Street and Oxford Street in Lakefield for the next several hours.
The area has been blocked off as a precaution. Earlier this morning, emergency services were called with regard to a concerning smell.
One person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
