Break and Enter Arrest

A 34-year-old Ajax man is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough early Thursday morning.

At approximately 5:30am on June 15, 2023, officers were called to a business in the Hunter Street East and Rogers Street area about a break and enter. Upon arrival, officers learned that the business owner had arrived and attempted to block the suspects in however, both got out and one suspect threatened the owner with a knife while the other hit his vehicle with a hammer. Officers spotted the pair fleeing on bicycles and followed. After a short distance one of the suspects was taken into custody while the other fled the other.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Ajax man was arrested and charged with:

Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Possession Break In Instruments
Mischief Over $5,000

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, June 15, 2023.

Police continue to search for a suspect with the following description:

white male, pale complexion
red hair
unshaven facial hair
160 lbs.
5'7"-5'8"
light grey hoodie
dark pants

Officers did recover a number of items that had been taken from the business.

Break and Enter Suspect Sought

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter a business Wednesday morning.

At approximately 9:30am on June 14, 2023, officers were called to the business in the Charlotte Street and Reid Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that the employees had shown up to open the store and discovered the break and enter. Several items had been taken.
