Officers Save Man in Park
A 61-year-old Peterborough male is recovering after officers found him outside in Jackson Park Wednesday night.
On February 5, 2025, officers received a call about a male who had not shown up for a medical appointment. They learned that he had been known to frequent Jackson Park and as a result officers started searching the park with the assistance of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) and K9. At about 9:30pm, officers located the man in the park in a hypothermic state. With the assistance of Peterborough Fire Services and EMS he was taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
Impaired Arrest
A 37-year-old Keene man is facing impaired and drug charges after an incident Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:30am on February 5, 2025, officers on general patrol in the Dalhousie Street and Park Street area noticed a truck with a plow and a salter parked and running at the stop sign and a male driver asleep at the wheel. Upon waking the driver up officers noticed signs of impairment. During a search after arrest officers also seized:
- 4.9grams of cocaine
- 0.8grams of crack cocaine
- Pills
- Drug paraphernalia
As a result, a 37-year-old Keene man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 18, 2025.
