Assault Investigation - Update - Arrest
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service High Risk Unit and Street Crime Unit have made an arrest in an early morning stabbing at a Peterborough bar.
At approximately 1:00pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was located and taken into custody.
He was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court tomorrow, February 21, 2025.
The downtown CCTV cameras were a critical tool in helping officers identify the suspect.
Assault Investigation
Officers with the Investigative Services Unit of the Peterborough Police Service continue to investigate after a man was stabbed at a Peterborough bar early Thursday morning.
At approximately 1:10am on February 20, 2025, officers were called to the bar in the George Street North and King Street area about an injured patron. Upon arrival, officers learned that after the incident the suspect had fled the scene. The 29-year-old victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
