Assault Arrest
A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident early Wednesday morning.
Just before 4:00am on February 15, 2023, officers were called to a residence. Upon arrival officers learned that a verbal argument had escalated, and that the female victim had been choked, struck in the face, and pushed to the floor. The male then fled from the residence. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault – Spousal
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and is schedule to appear in court today, February 16, 2023.
Assault Arrest
A 40-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after a domestic incident Wednesday evening.
At approximately 6:30pm on February 15, 2023, officers were called to a residence. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had asked a female to leave but the woman refused and began irate, breaking items in the home and then striking the man several times. Officers were able to locate the woman walking a short distance from the residence and took her into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
- Mischief – Domestic
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 14, 2023.
