Assault Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 9:00pm on September 30, 2023, officers were called to the area of Charlotte Street and George Street. Upon arrival officers learned that a couple had been in a verbal argument on the street when an unknown male intervened and brandished a knife at the male striking him in the face. The suspect then fled the area. Officers were able to use information from the CCTV camera system to help get a description of the suspect. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
At approximately 4:30pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023, an officer on general patrol in the Aylmer Street and Brock Street spotted a man matching the description of the suspect and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, October 2, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 20-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 7:50pm on September 29, 2023, officers were called to the area of Cathcart Crescent and Stewart Line after a witness called about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers noticed a road sign had been struck. Officers then attended the driver’s residence and noticed signs of impairment and damage to the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impound.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 24, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 24-year-old Havelock man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 5:30pm on September 30, 2023, officers were called about a vehicle being driven erratically in the George Street and McDonnel Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned the vehicle had struck several other vehicles before stopping in the George Street and Murray Street area. Upon speaking with driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Havelock man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impound.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 24, 2023.
