Assault with a Weapon Arrest
A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 8:30pm on May 6, 2022, officers were called to a residence on Park Street North and King Street about an altercation between two men in which one of the men had been struck on the head. Police located a man, matching the description given to police, several blocks away and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Breach of recognizance
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1, 2022.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday.
At approximately 5:30pm on May 7, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the George Street and Argyle Street area about a man who had broken into the building. Upon arrival officers located a man, matching the description given to police in the building, and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break & Enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X3
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on May 8, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident over the weekend.
On Sunday, May 8, 2022, officers learned that two women had gotten into a dispute and a physical altercation the night before. During the investigation, it was also revealed that there had been previous incidents between the two.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - Spousal X4
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle X3
- Uttering Threats - Damage Property
- Mischief - Domestic
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, May 9, 2022.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
Assault Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday.
On May 8, 2022, officers were made aware of several incidents over the past few days between a man and a woman, including a physical altercation while in a parking lot in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, May 9, 2022.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
Fire
Peterborough Police are investigating after a fire in a dumpster.
At approximately 6:00pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022, a fire in two large dumpsters in the Townsend Street and George Street area was reported. Peterborough Fire was able to extinguish the fire.
