Motor Vehicle Collision – Lakefield Road
The Peterborough Police Service continues to investigate after a collision early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:10am on March 24, 2024, officers were called about a collision just north of Woodland Drive on Lakefield Road. Four people in one vehicle were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment and one person in the other vehicle was flown by ORNGE to a Toronto-area hospital.
The road was closed for about nine hours for the investigation.

Motor Vehicle Collision – Water Street
The Peterborough Police Service has concluded its investigation into a collision on Water Street at Parkhill Road on the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Through investigation it was learned the incident was the result of a medical episode.
Animal Death
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after an incident Sunday evening in the Township of Cavan-Monaghan.
At approximately 4:30pm on March 24, 2024, a resident called saying their cat had been shot with an arrow. Upon arrival in the Deyell Line and County Road 10 area, officers learned the cat was found injured on a driveway, taken to a vet and had to be euthanized due to its injuries.

Theft and Fraud Arrest
A 39-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after several incidents over the past few weeks.
On March 21, 2024, officers were made aware of an situation at a Peterborough grocery store where an employee was improperly scanning items and not charging customers the full amount. The incidents happened between March 12th and 17th, 2024.
As a result of an investigation, on March 22, 2024, a 39-year-old Peterborough woman turned herself into police and was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 x4
- Fraud Under $5000 x3
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 16, 2024.
