RIDE Program/Impaired Arrest
Peterborough Police conducted two RIDE check programs over the past weekend.
On Friday, March 17, 2023, officers were out in several locations, with the following results:
- 526 Motor Vehicle Checks
- 52 ASD Demands
- 1 Impaired
- 1 Warn – 3-Day License Suspension
Impaired Arrest
A 26-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after being stopped at a RIDE Check.
Just before 11:00pm on March 17, 2023, officers pulled a vehicle over as part of the RIDE program.
As a result of the stop, a 26-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court, April 12, 2023.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, officers conducted a mobile weekend RIDE program, with the following results:
- 25 Motor Vehicle Checks
- 13 ASD Demands
- 1 Warn – 3-Day License Suspension
Peterborough Police remind residents that the RIDE program continues throughout the year. Motorists are reminded to never drive impaired. If you do see a possible impaired driver, please call 9-1-1.
Motor Vehicle Collision – Highway 28
Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a two vehicle collision on Highway 28 Friday night.
At approximately 8:00pm on March 17, 2023, officers were called to the area of Highway 28 and Cedar Valley Road for a collision between two vehicles. One person was trapped in a vehicle and once removed was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre before being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Stolen Tractor Trailer Sought - Update
The truck and trailer have been located. The investigation is ongoing.

Peterborough Police investigating after a tractor trailer was stolen from a local business.
It’s believed the truck and trailer were taken between noon on Sunday, March 19, 2023 and 4:30am on Monday, March 20, 2023 from a business in the Neal Drive and Pido Road area. The trailer was loaded with items for delivery. The vehicles are valued at $110,000.
The truck and trailer are described as: (Photos below)

- 2014 Western Star CNV,
- White with “Hartrans Cartage Services” on door in blue graphics.
- Ontario plate #BN81594
Trailer:
- 2012 Great Dane SUP111 refrigerated trailer,
- White with “Midland Delivering Superior Quality Service!” on the sides in green graphics.
