Shooting Investigation
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a man was dropped off at Peterborough Regional Health Centre with a gunshot wound.
At approximately 7:30pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, officers were called to the Emergency Department about the 30-year-old victim from Toronto. The victim was flown to a Toronto trauma hospital for treatment.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined the victim was transported to hospital by another male, who was uncooperative with police. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Orleans, Ontario man was arrested and charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court June 18, 2024.

Robbery Suspects Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a robbery incident Friday night in Peterborough.
At approximately 9:15pm on May 31, 2024, officers were called to the area of River Road South and Lansdowne Street East. Upon arrival, officers learned that two people had been approached by a group of 15-20 young people, the group asked if they could have a vape however, when they were told no a verbal argument ensued and one of the youths showed the victims a knife in a bag. The young people then took off toward Beavermead Park when one of the victims noticed their cell phone was gone.

Motor Vehicle Collision - George Street and Sherbrooke Street
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning.
At approximately 9:15am on June 1, 2024, officers were called to the area of George Street and Sherbrooke Street about a collision between a motorcycle and a car. The motorcyclist was flown to a Toronto hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for about five hours while traffic collision reconstruction was on scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Impaired Arrest
A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 8:00pm on May 31, 2024, an officer on general patrol spotted a vehicle going the wrong way on Water Street at McDonnel Street. The vehicle then stopped and started backing up with a tire going up on the curb before turning the correct direction and proceeding through a red light. The officer conducted a traffic stop and noticed signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drugs
The accused was released on an appearance notice and will appear in court July 2, 2024.
