Assault Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday morning.

At approximately 9:15am on July 7, 2023, officers were called to a business in the Lansdowne Street East and Willowcreek Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers learned that a store manager had a man in custody.  They further learned that the male had been in the store earlier that day and tried to leave without paying for his items.  The store manager got the items away from the suspect.  About an hour later, the suspect returned to the store demanding the bag and items be given back to him, when he was told no, he became aggressive and bit the manager on the hand. 

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Assault
• Theft Under $5000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 25, 2023.

Assault Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:00pm on July 7, 2023, officers were called to a building in the George Street and Murray Street area about a male causing a disturbance.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the male had been threatening staff at the building and had thrown a punch toward the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot. 

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm X2 
• Assault

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Saturday, July 8, 2023. 

Impaired Arrest

A 19-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes woman is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:00am on July 8, 2023, officers were called to the King Street parkade by Peterborough Paramedics about a female unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the female was awake, and the officer noticed signs of impairment with the driver.  

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes woman was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 25, 2023.
