Theft Arrest
A 36-year-old Peterborough woman is facing two dozen theft charges after incidents that happened over a two-month period.
In early December 2024, online reports were filed regarding a series of thefts from the business in the Chemong Road and Milroy Drive area. Through an investigation by Community FIRST officers, it was determined that the same person was involved in each of the incidents. In each instance, the suspect would not scan several items that they had picked up while paying for others resulting a total loss to the business of just over $3,100.
As a result of the investigation on Friday, January 17, 2025, a 36-year-old Peterborough woman attended the Peterborough Police Service station and turned herself in.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, Friday, January 17, 2025.
Bail Violations Arrest
A traffic stop Saturday evening has resulted in a charge against a 60-year-old Pickering man.
At approximately 11:30pm on Saturday evening, officers on general patrol conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, they noticed one of the passengers attempting to hide. Upon investigation it was learned that the man was wanted in another jurisdiction and is also currently bound by a release order to remain with his surety every night in Pickering.
As a result, a 60-year-old Pickering man was arrested and charged with:
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
