Break and Enter - Millbrook
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter in Millbrook early Saturday morning.
At approximately 5:40am on February 10, 2024, officers received a call from an employee going into to work about a break and enter to the Foodland grocery store on Centre Street in Millbrook. It’s believed the incident happened sometime between 2:30am and 5:40am on Saturday, February 10, 2024. There was extensive damage to the store with cigarettes reported stolen.

Robbery Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a knifepoint robbery Sunday evening.
At approximately 9:50pm on February 11, 2024, officers were called to a convenience store in the Hunter Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had entered the store brandished a knife at the clerk and took off with cash. Officers searched the area; however, a suspect was not located.
The suspect was described to police as:
- White male
- 6ft tall
- Wearing
- Dark coloured zip up hoodie with blue sleeves and a white logo on the upper left chest
- Dark pants
- Grey shoes with dark laces
- Black face mask
- Possibly a black baseball cap

RIDE Program
The Peterborough Police Service conducted a RIDE program on Sunday evening.
Officers were out in four location between 5:00pm and 11:00pm on February 11, 2024. In all, 650 vehicles were stopped with 41 ASD tests administered. There were no violations reported.

Suspended Driver Arrest
A 46-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a traffic stop early Monday morning.
At approximately 2:45am on February 12, 2024, an officer on general patrol was alerted by the Automated License Plate Reader that a car did not have the proper license plate on it. The officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver gave the officer a false name before it was learned the driver’s real identity and that they were a suspended driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer (providing a false name)
- Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to surrender insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court March 5, 2024.
Theft from Motor Vehicles/ Trespass By Night Arrest
A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after several incidents Friday afternoon.
At approximately 4:15pm on February 9, 2024, officers with the Community FIRST team received a call about a man breaking into a vehicle and running through backyards in the Hunter Street and Park Street North area. Upon arrival to the area, officers spotted a man matching the description given to police and followed him for several blocks before they were directed to a residence. The man came out of the residence and was taken into custody. During a search after arrest some property not belonging to the man was found. Furthermore, there were several warrants out for the accused.
As a result, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and also charged with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Obstruct Peace Officer (providing a false name)
The accused was released on an undertaking, as the per the conditions of the warrants, with a court date of March 5, 2024.
Several hours later, officers received a call about a man in the Harvey Street and London Street area about a man going through vehicles and running through backyards. The man was described as the same man who had been released earlier in the evening. Officers with the Community FIRST team arrived in the area and spotted a male suspect who took off running. Officers from several units followed on foot, including a K9 track with Police Service Dog Gryphon and he was eventually located in the Murray Street and Water Street area.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Trespassing at Night
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, Saturday, February 10, 2024.
