Weapons Arrest
Two 15-year-old Peterborough males are facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 9:00pm on August 13, 2023, officers received calls about several males who had a knife and a conducted energy weapon (CEW) in the Bethune Street and Stewart Street area and were attempting to use the CEW on another male. Shortly after a second call came in about males with a CEW in the Brock Street and Downie Street area. Through investigation suspects were identified. One male was arrested at his residence and the second turned himself in to police early Monday morning.
As a result:
A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court August 28, 2023.

Break & Enter Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business.
On Friday, August 11, 2023, officers were made aware of an incident at the business in the Chemong Road and Simons Avenue area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a suspect had entered the store just before close on Thursday evening and waited in the store until it was closed and empty before taking off with about $10,000 worth of electronics.
The following description of the suspect was given to police:
- Black male
- 5’11”
- Bright white crocks (footwear)
- Black jogger pants
- Black hoody
- Blue ball cap with “DODGERS” lettering
- White surgical mask

Impaired Arrest
A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday afternoon.
At approximately 5:00pm on August 11, 2023, officers were called to a parking lot of a mall in the Milroy Drive and Chemong Road area after a concerned resident called police about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers located the driver, noticed signs of impairment and learned that he had been aggressive toward several bystanders. During the course of the investigation, the man refused to comply with the breath demand. Refusing to comply with the breath demand carries the same weight as an impaired charge.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 5, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 1:30pm on August 13, 2023, officers were called to the area of Stewart Street and Simcoe Street about a woman passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the woman was awake and officers noticed signs of impairment as well as drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. They further learned she was suspended driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused was issued a 45-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 5, 2023.
