Drug Warrant/Arrests
Three people are facing charges after the Peterborough Police Service conducted a search warrant Friday afternoon.
On Friday, August 9, 2024, officers with the Drug Unit and the Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the McDonnel Street and Rubidge Street area.
Officers seized:
- 2 loaded firearms (handguns)
- 177 grams of Fentanyl
- 55 grams of Cocaine
- 122 Dilaudid pills
- Over $3000.00 Canadian Currency
As a result of the investigation,
A 23-year-old Pickering man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Dilaudid)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
A 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Dilaudid)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

A 17-year-old Brampton male was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance - Opioid (Dilaudid)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Under the Canadian Youth Justice Code, the name of a young person cannot be released.
Assault Arrest
A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday morning.
At approximately 11:15am on Friday, August 9, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street North area. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men had been involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical with one of the men brandishing a knife at the other and verbally threatened him. The victim suffered minor cuts to their hand.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Friday, August 9, 2024.
Weapons Arrest
A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:30pm on August 10, 2024, officers were called to the area of Aylmer Street and Murray Street. Upon arrival to a residence officers learned there was a male who had a firearm and that the man had just left. Officers searched the area and located a man matching the description given to police several blocks away. Officers conducted a gunpoint arrest and took the male into custody without incident. During a search after arrest, officers located a loaded pellet gun.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Carry concealed weapon
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following conditions: to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
