Weapons Arrest
A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:15pm on April 1, 2023, officers were called to the area of Rogers Street and Hunter Street East about a man with a knife threatening people. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police. The man did not comply with officers demands until each drew their Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW). The man was then taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers located two pocket-knives. No one was injured in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
The accused is currently bound by an undertaking to not possess any knives or edged weapons.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 19, 2023.
Theft Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a theft from a convenience store Saturday evening.
At approximately 8:00pm on April 1, 2023, officers were called to the store in the George Street North and Townsend Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned a female suspect had left the store without paying for a number of items.
The female suspect was described to police as: (photo below)
- Dark brown hair
- 25 to 35 years old
- Between 5'5" to 5'9"
- Bruising on face
- Wearing:
- purple peacoat
- gray sweater
- skinny black pants
- dark brown/black shoes

Assault Arrest
A 42-year-old Township of Cavan-Monaghan man is facing charges after a domestic incident.
At approximately 11:30am on Saturday, April 1, 2023, officers were made aware of a recent incident in which the female victim was grabbed by her clothing, shaken, and verbally threatened.
As a result of the investigation, officers attended a residence, and a 42-year-old Township of Cavan-Monaghan man was taken into custody and charged with:
- Assault – spousal
- Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm – spousal
- Breach of Recognizance
The accused was in held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 3:00pm on April 1, 2023, officers were called after it was reported a male had broken into a residence. Officers attended, located the male in the residence and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place - Commit Indictable Offence
- Fail To Comply with Probation Order x3
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not communicate with the victim in this case, and to stay away from the victim.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Uttering Threats Arrest
A 34-year-old Lindsay man is facing a charge after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 6:30pm on March 31, 2023, officers were called to a residence in the Hunter Street West and Aylmer Street area about a domestic verbal dispute. Police were called back to the residence a short time later by a neighbour. Upon arrival the officers learned the male involved in the verbal dispute had then made threatening comments toward the neighbour.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats CC- Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 20, 2023.
