Break and Enter Arrest
A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with a residential break and enter last month.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, officers were made aware of the incident at a residence in the Weller Street and Monaghan Street area. At the time officers learned that someone had entered the home overnight and took a purse containing credit cards. It was further learned that one of the cards was used at a Peterborough convenience store. Through investigation, a suspect was identified.
At approximately 6:50pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, officers with the Street Crime Unit were in downtown Peterborough and spotted the suspect on a bicycle. He was was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, a 48-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter and Commit
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Use of Credit Card
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, September 20, 2024.
