Sexual Assault Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges in connection with an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
In late May 2024, the Peterborough Police Service was made aware of multiple incidents between 2022 to early 2024 involving the accused and a male who was 15-years-old when the incidents began. As a result of the information, an investigation was initiated and on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the accused was arrested and taken into custody.
As a result, a 44-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age
- Sexual Interference
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 23, 2024.
At this time, it is believed there are no other victims.
Robbery Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a street-level robbery Thursday night.
At approximately 9:45pm on June 13, 2024, officers were called to the area of Romaine Street and Park Street North. Upon arrival, they learned that a 30-year-old woman had been walking on the path when a man tried to grab her backpack. A struggle ensued and the woman was punched in the face. A passing vehicle stopped to help, and the suspect ran off southbound on the path.
The suspect was described to police as:
- While male approximately 5'10"
- Thin face with sunken in cheeks
- Black hoodie
- Dark track pants
- Small backpack
- Black Ball Cap
