Warrant Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant has been arrested.
At approximately 9:24pm on January 25, 2024, officers were responding to a disturbance call in the area of King Street and George Street. Officers in the area identified a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court, and he was subsequently arrested. The accused failed to attend court on initial charges of:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Theft Under $5000
- Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm
- Fail to Comply
- Breach of Probation
- Mischief Under $5000
As a result, the accused is being held in custody for a bail hearing today, January 26, 2024.
Theft and Warrant Arrest
At approximately 8:45pm on January 25, 2024, officers responded to a theft in progress at a business on Lansdowne Street West. Officers identified two individuals on surveillance video that had already left the store with stolen property. Officers attended a Peterborough residence and located both suspects and recovered the outstanding stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Peterborough man and 38-year old Lindsay woman have been charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
Furthermore, officers executed two outstanding warrants for the arrest of the 38-year-old Lindsay woman on charges of:
- Breach of probation x2
- Fail to attend court
As a result, the 43-year-old Peterborough man was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled for court on February 13, 2024. The 38-year-old woman was held in custody and will appear in court today, January 26, 2024, for a bail hearing.
