Stunt Driving Charge
An 18-year-old G2 driver is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 12:00pm on February 8, 2024, an officer on traffic patrol in the area of Hilliard Street and Marina Boulevard recorded a vehicle going 97km/hr in a posted 40km/hr Community Safety Zone.
As a result, an 18-year-old Peterborough male was charged with stunt driving, issued a 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

The Peterborough Police Service would like to remind residents that Hilliard Street and several other streets facing schools within the City of Peterborough have now been designated as Community Safety Zones.
A Community Safety Zone is designated for a lower speed limit and means an increase any fines for related offences such as speeding. For example, driving 20km/hr over the posted limit would cost a driver $180 instead of $95.

Utter Threats Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after several incidents over the past 24 hours.
On February 8, 2024, a man was located on the Peterborough Police Station property with a leg wound. Through investigation it was determined that the wound was not caused by another person.
The man was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for assessment and released. However, while there the man continuously verbally threatened an officer.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Utter Threats
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 9, 2024.
