Robbery Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is looking for two suspects after a street-level robbery early Friday morning.
At approximately 12:20am on December 1, 2023, officers were called to the Chemong Road and Wolsely Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had been walking in the area when he was approached by two males, who demanded he hand over any valuables when the victim refused the men punched him and stole a necklace he was wearing before fleeing the area. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. K9 was called in to try a track in the area but the suspects were not located.
The suspects were described to police as:
Suspect #1:
- White male
- About 30 years old
- Wearing a red sweater and a black hat with “RCV” on it
Suspect #2:
- White male
- About 50 years old
- Wearing all black clothing

Assault Arrest
A 40-year-old man from Brooklin,ON is facing charges after an incident early Friday morning.
At approximately 1:00am on December 1, 2023, officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Charlotte Street area about an unwanted male refusing to leave the business. Upon arrival, officers heard a man yelling from inside the business. Once inside, officers attempted to deescalate the situation but the male continued to display aggressive behaviour and was not complying with officer demands. As a result, the officer deployed their conducted energy weapon and were able to take the man into custody. While trying to get the man into a police cruiser, the suspect continued to yell, kicked an officer in the leg and verbally threatened officers. It was further learned that the man was wanted on a warrant in another jurisdiction.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Brooklin,ON man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, Friday, December 1, 2023.
Break and Enter Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a Peterborough business reported a break and enter.
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, officers were notified that two laptops and some computer accessories had gone missing and that an employee had noticed the door slightly open when arriving for work. It’s believed the break-in happened sometime between 6:15pm on November 29, 2023 and 8:30am on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the business in the Charlotte Street and Stewart Street area.
