Stabbing Arrest - Update
A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge after a disturbance was reported at a residence in Peterborough.
At approximately 8:07am on August 18, 2023, officers were called to the area of Sherbrooke Street and Park Place. Upon arrival officers learned that during the disturbance one male suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound and was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre treated and released.
As part of the investigation K9 Gryphon was called in and made a successful track to the area of Park Street and Parnell Street where officers were able to take a man into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 18, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 43-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Thursday morning.
At approximately, 10:30am on August 17, 2023, officers were called to the parking lot of a business in the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers noticed open alcohol in the vehicle and further signs of impairment with the driver. Further investigation revealed the woman was three times over the legal limit.
As a result, a 43-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 5, 2023.
