Assault Arrest
A 17-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 3:20pm on April 11, 2024, officers were called to a disturbance in the Aylmer Street and Simcoe Street area in which an argument between two people had escalated and a male had struck a 17-year-old female. Upon arrival to the area, officers noticed a couple matching the description given to police walking away from the area. During the arrest, the male verbally threatened the female. Officers further learned that the male was wanted on two warrants.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old Peterborough male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Assault Spousal
- Utter Threats
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 12, 2024.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of a young person cannot be released.
