Impaired Arrest
A 41-year-old Omemee man is facing charges after an incident Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:10pm on February 18, 2025, officers were called about collision at Lansdowne Street and The Parkway in which one vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicles had been moved to a nearby parking lot and officers learned there had been a second minor collision between the vehicle that had rearended the vehicle at the light and a parked vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle that had rearended the other, officers noticed signs of impairment. During the investigation, it was learned that the 41-year-old driver was wanted for impaired in another jurisdiction. Officers also located a small quantity of fentanyl on the suspect.
As a result, a 41-year-old Omemee man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Operation while impaired - drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 1, 2025.
