Drug Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 8:15am on March 1, 2023, an officer on general patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Stewart Street and Wolfe Street. The officer followed the vehicle into a parking lot in the Monaghan Road and Sherbrooke Street area.  It was determined the driver was a suspended driver and he was taken into custody. Further investigation, resulted in officers locating:

• One piece of ammunition
• A BB gun
• Drug paraphernalia
• Cocaine – 2.7grams
• 20 Pills
• Canadian currency

Police Service Dog (PSD) Gryphon was called in to conduct a search of the vehicle but nothing else was located.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine
• Possession for the Purpose of Traffick in Schedule I substance - Other Drugs
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
• Failure to comply with undertaking
• Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
• Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver (Highway Traffic Act)
• Drive motor vehicle in contravention of conditions (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following condition to not possess any ammunition or weapons.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Drug Arrest

A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday morning. 

At approximately 11:45am on March 1, 2023, officers on general patrol noticed suspicious activity in the area of Stewart Street and Wolfe Street.  Officers approached the group and took a man into custody.  During the arrest officers seized:

• Fentanyl - 5.4grams
• Canadian Currency
• Drug Paraphernalia

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Traffick in Schedule I substance - Other Drugs
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 2, 2023.
