Theft of Sword Handle (Hilt) – Trent University
Peterborough Police are investigating after a part of a statue on the Trent University Campus was stolen.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, officers were made aware that a sword handle, valued at over $5000 had been removed from a statue at the Trent Athletic Centre. It’s believed the hilt was taken some time between March 21 and 22, 2022. Shortly after a photo was circulated on social media and it was hoped the piece would be returned but that has not happened.

Stunt Driving Charge
A 42-year-old Bobcaygeon woman is facing a stunt driving charge after an incident Thursday.
Just before noon on April 28, 2022, a driver was clocked going 113km/h in a 60km/h zone on County Road 10 in Cavan Monaghan.
The driver was charged with stunt driving, the vehicle impounded for 14 days, and the driver issued a 30-day license suspension.
