A 28-year-old man wanted on warrants in Peterborough and Durham Region was arrested Friday morning.
At approximately 11:40am on January 10, 2025, officers on foot patrol in the Simcoe Street and Aylmer Street area spotted a man known to be wanted on warrants for theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and arson – damage to property in Peterborough in connection with two incidents in October 2024. The man was also wanted by Durham Regional Police Service for two serious incidents in Oshawa and Ajax. The officers approached the man and took him into custody.
As a result, the 28-year-old man was arrested on the strength of the warrant, given a court date of February 18, 2025 in connection with the Peterborough incidents and then turned over to Durham Regional Police.
