Shoplifting Arrests
The Community FIRST Unit made six arrests in connection with six different shoplifting incidents in Peterborough Wednesday.
A 52-year-old Township of Cavan-Monaghan man was arrested twice for two different incidents at businesses on Charlotte Street and Lansdowne Street. The first incident happened around 2:10pm and the second around 5:15pm, on August 21, 2024.

Assault/Criminal Harassment Arrest
Two Peterborough teens are facing charges after an incident earlier this month.

Sexual Assault Arrest
A 41-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an investigation into a sexual assault involving a 15-year-old female.
Officers were made aware of the incident in late July and opened an investigation. On Thursday, August 15, 2024, officers with the Investigative Services Sex Crime Unit arrested the suspect at the Peterborough Police Station.
As a result, a 41-year-old Peterborough man was charged with:
- Sexual Interference
- Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 years of age
