Taxicab Scams
The Peterborough Police Service is issuing a warning after multiple reports of a scam involving a fake taxi.
The scam involves a person asking the victim to help them pay for their taxi fare. When the good Samaritan helps out and enters their PIN into the card reader, they are then distracted, and the victim’s card is swapped out for a fake card. The suspects then leave the area with the original card and the PIN number...

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 12:30am on June 20, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Stenson Boulevard and Brealey Drive area about a disturbance. Please be aware that there will be a heavier Peterborough Police presence in Peterborough today (Thursday, June 20, 2024).
