Child Luring Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges following an online investigation.
On June 7, 2023, officers from the Peterborough Police Service ICE Unit and the OPP ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Peterborough.
As a result of a cooperative investigation between Peterborough Police, OPP, the US Department of Homeland Security and Albemarle County Police Department in Charlottesville, Virginia, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Luring a Person Under 18 Years of Age by Means of Telecommunications
- Transmit Sexually Explicit Material to a Person Under 18 Years of Age
- Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children x2
The accused is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
The Peterborough Police is a member of the Provincial Strategy to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet.

Voyeurism Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with several incidents at area businesses.
On June 2, 2023, officers were made aware of an incident at a local business where a client was deliberately asked to stand in a certain spot to make it easy for the suspect for look up their dress.
Through investigation, officers also determined the suspect was connected to incidents at other businesses in the area on April 14, 2023 and May 31, 2023.
As a result, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Voyeurism X3
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday, June 8, 2023.
Suspicious Person Investigation
The Peterborough Police Service has been made aware of an incident in the parking lot of Lansdowne Place and an investigation is ongoing.
Through investigation officers were made aware that a female was sitting in her car when someone tried to get into the vehicle on Thursday, June 1st at 2:00pm in the afternoon. The woman screamed and the man left and continued into the mall.
The suspect was described to police as:
- Male
- 60-70 years old
- Scabs on his face
- Grey hair
- White t-shirt
- Jeans
- Holding something blue
