Assault Investigation
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a 9-1-1 call about an injured man.
At approximately 1:00am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, officers were called to the area of Reid Street and Simcoe Street and located a man with a stab wound to his arm. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

RIDE Check
The Peterborough Police Service conducted RIDE checks in Peterborough, Lakefield and Cavan-Monaghan over the long weekend.
In all,

Dangerous Operation Arrest
A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after an incident Monday evening in the Lansdowne Street East and River Road area.
At approximately 7:50pm while conducting the RIDE stop, an officer stopped a motorcycle and indicated that they were conducting Mandatory Alcohol Screening. Before the officer could conduct the test, the motorcyclist took off at a high rate of speed through the RIDE check and a nearby red light. A short time later, officers were notified that the vehicle had been spotted in a parking lot in the Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street area. Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.
As a result, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous operation
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Highway Traffic Act:
- Fail to stop for police
- Red light - fail to stop
- Drive motor vehicle, no plates
- Fail to notify change of address
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 17, 2024.
