Fraud Incident Suspects Sought – Update
The Peterborough Police Service continues to receive calls about a group of people offering to do driveway and pavement repairs in the area.
Since an initial report on Monday, May 15, 2023, officers have been made aware of two more incidents believed to the same group of people. The work has been unsolicited and sometimes started before an agreement was reached. The sales technique is aggressive and both residents and businesses have been approached.

Second Degree Murder Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing a second degree murder charge in connection with the death of an infant in 2021.
On November 2, 2021, a 2-month-old infant was taken to PRHC in distress at around 4:30am. The infant was eventually stabilized and then transported to The Hospital for Sick Children by Ornge air ambulance. On November 6, 2021, the infant died after being taken off life support equipment.

PETERBOROUGH, ON – On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Peterborough Police Service and the Knights of Columbus Ernest J. Wolff Council 798 gathered to present awards to citizens who displayed courage and commitment to community along with officers who went above and beyond the call.

Sexual Assault Arrest
A 43-year-old Peterborough man is facing a sexual assault charge after an incident was reported to Peterborough Police.
In March 2023 officers learned of a sexual assault that had happened in the basement of The Social in November 2022 between a co-owner of the bar and a 23-year-old female employee.
As a result of the investigation, on May 15, 2023, 43-year-old Lang Freeman of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:

Distracted Driving Campaign
The Peterborough Police Service distracted driving campaign “Eyes on the Road” continues. Another 40 tickets have been laid for distracted driving bringing the total to 80 tickets since May 1st.
